David

David is a choir leader, singer and preacher.

The shoot took place in the church were David works. David and I met at school and although our lives took very different paths we are still close. David is one of the funniest people I know but he's also very thoughtful and kind. In the first photo on this page and another featured in the exhibition, David was talking about his mums passing. After the shoot I spoke to David about whether he felt comfortable sharing such an intimate photo and he very graciously has allowed me to. Those images are heartbreaking but I feel,  very important. David and I agreed that grief is something we often try to hide from the world but the pain is a result of the love we had for a lost one and there should be no shame in that.
